About Alixe
I am proud to share that Annie and Cooper’s current litter will be their third and final one. I chose to breed Australian Shepherds because they are truly exceptional dogs—intelligent, loyal, and full of personality. However, their high energy and intelligence can sometimes lead to challenges, and I noticed that without proper guidance, some end up being rehomed. These are dogs that thrive with structure, purpose, and early training.
With that in mind, I developed a thoughtful approach to raising well-adjusted puppies. The first four weeks focus on providing a calm, nurturing environment where the mother can care for her puppies naturally. Beginning in week five, I introduce early training, including housebreaking, crate training, and leash exposure. I also set clear boundaries, such as discouraging play biting, so puppies learn early that interacting gently with humans is essential.
In addition, I begin basic grooming routines, including light nail trimming, to help puppies become comfortable with handling. I prioritize early socialization by exposing them to everyday experiences like household noises, music, stairs, and new environments. Once appropriately vaccinated, they are gradually introduced to new people as well. Raised in a family setting, they also learn from both their mother and father, who help reinforce appropriate behavior.
I believe dogs deserve loving, committed homes where they can thrive. They bring tremendous joy and companionship, and it is our responsibility to guide them early in life so they grow into confident, well-mannered members of the family.
About Aussie-Love
I am new to dog breeding and went into the field in order to breed the best Australian Shepherds around. As a lover of Aussies, I noticed that many people have a hard time due to the energy level and intelligence of the breed. Smart, active dogs can get into a lot of trouble!
Therefore, I created a training plan to limit or eliminate the most common problems. I begin by creating a loving environment for the mama dog to have and care for the puppies for the first four weeks.
Beginning with the fifth week, I begin to housebreak, crate train, and leash train the dogs. I am firm about no biting as dogs need to learn when they are puppies that play biting humans is completely off limits. I also begin to groom them, including trimming their nails. I only trim a tiny bit but it helps them get used to having their paws handled.
I expose them to as many experiences as possible including vacuums, music, elevators, stairs, and once they have had their shots, other people. They are being raised in a family environment so they are also exposed to the mom and dad who do not put up with their shenanigans! lol
I love dogs more than most people and believe they deserve a great forever family. They give us so much joy in life and I also believe it is our responsibility to train them when they are young so they are much more likely to grow into amazing members of a family.
