Rehoming due to ongoing health problems that are effecting his quality of life. Fully vaccinated Indoor dog, fully house trained Crate trained for the first 2 years of his life, so he would probably pick it back up pretty quick He has had many hours of obedience training - Reliable commands: sit, down, stay, come, out (i.e. “drop it”) - We have not officially done the Canine Good Citizen test, but he would almost certainly pass with flying colors He particularly enjoys trick training! Tricks weʼve taught him include: - Shake hands, high five, sit up, weave or figure 8 through legs, jump through hoops - - “Imperio” (stand up on hind legs and dance) “Avada kedavra” (play dead) Leash trained. Bingley is an incredibly good natured and outgoing dog. He is a typical Border Collie - toy obsessed, intelligent, obedient, and deeply in-tune with his humans. He is also extremely friendly, loves people, and is not overly sensitive. He has unlimited enthusiasm and energy for play. Bingley has perfected the ask for one more throw of the ball, the paw he'll hook on your arm to keep you scratching his belly. He'll place a toy behind you while you work and wait hours for you to notice. When you finally turn around, you'll see him crouched low, wagging his tail and staring intensely at the toy by your feet. It is easy to keep his focus and he can navigate crowded places and even ride subways. He handles city noise well and is only startled by motorcycles passing close or dogs jumping at him. When walking on a loose leash, Bingley will pull if he thinks you're going toward a park (this is very handler-dependent though – currently, he pulls dad but not mom). At home, Bingley is either resting or waiting to play. He'll find a nice place on the floor to sleep – usually by a door so nobody can leave without him noticing. If you let him sleep on a couch, he will take up your entire couch (I've never seen a 38 lbs dog manage to take up so much space). If you don't let him sleep on your couch, he'll keep asking you, gently, until one day you give in. He is a master at pushing boundaries over time, and an exceedingly polite roommate. Bingley has incredible impulse control. He is trained to not take food from the floor without permission and to wait for “go” before chasing a ball. His "out" obedience is strong enough that he will drop a piece of chicken when commanded. With other dogs, Bingley is somewhat disinterested. He doesn't mind them, but he would much prefer to be engaged with humans. With children too young to play with him, he is respectful and mostly keeps his distance. With adults, heʼs extremely outgoing. He loves going to coffee shops, parks, and meetups. More often than not at group gatherings, youʼll find him in the middle of a crowd, performing tricks, bringing people toys, and generally enjoying being the center of attention. Comes with some food, heartworm/flea/tick preventative, and toys.
