Born 12/18/2025
Purebred Leonberger
Black boy is one of 3 males born out of a litter of 8. He is being raised in our home with our small children and receiving so much love and affection. He will be very socialized and well adapted to life with littles, other dogs and the woods! Black boy is the largest male out of the litter.
He is so gentle but also so very playful and outgoing. He is the most calm male from the litter as we've watched them grow.
Puppies will be started on potty training by the time they leave, be vet checked and be current on vaccinations.
Non-refundable deposits are required to hold the puppy of your choice.
If you would like your puppy to be delivered to your area, we ask that you search for possible delivery options. We are located in Frederic, Wisconsin.
Happy to answer any questions! We truly love our Leos so very much and look forward to each of them finding a loving new family to call their own.

About Leonberger Puppies
About Leonberger Puppies
What makes Leonbergers special?
As a mix between a Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, and Pyrenean Mountain Dog, the Leonberger is a gentle giant with the heart and coat of a lion. Don’t let their size fool you; they’re just kind family dogs who love chasing, being active, and most of all, staying by your side. Full-grown, they typically weigh 90-170 pounds and stand 25-32 inches tall.
Are Leonbergers friendly with strangers and kids?
Leonbergers are generally excellent with children of all ages. They have a friendly personality and love everyone, including children, strangers, dogs, and other pets. Watch young children around the these pups, though, because their size can be overwhelming for babies and toddlers. They're moderate barkers — they'll alert you when something's up but aren't excessive.
Can Leonbergers keep up with an active lifestyle?
Leonbergers are usually lazy indoors and come alive outdoors. They need plenty of exercise and love doing activities with their owners, whether it’s walking, hiking, or playing in the yard. Make sure to keep them leashed so they don’t go running after a stray cat or small animal. Overall, their exercise needs are high.
How much grooming does a Leonberger need?
Leonbergers have soft or rough coats that are waterproof. Their fur is yellow, red, cream, or brown, all with a black mask. The Leonberger has a thick mane, which gives them their lion-like appearance. Grooming-wise, this breed is fairly high-maintenance.
Can a Leonberger live in an apartment?
Leonbergers are best suited for a house with a good-sized yard. Leonbergers prefer to live in a home setting and cooler climate. They enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors, but they should sleep inside so they can be around people and avoid the elements. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
