Hi, My name is Caity, or Caity Roo when mom really wants me to pay attention: I am looking for my forever home. I am NOT high energy, I like roaming around the yard outside the fence and I love to lay my head on anyone's lap at any time, but while watching TV is my favorite. I have had 2 litters of puppies and loved being a mommy. I have been spayed, so I'm finished with that part of my journey. I know sit, down, go (that means go to another room or outside because I'm in the way), this way (instead of come), and I use the doggy door. I am crate trained, but it's not my favorite thing unless it's meal time (I eat and sleep in my crate). I get overly excited when I am first put on a leash, but I calm down pretty quick, unless Mom takes me to the vet :( My vaccines are all up to date, I am current on my flea, tic, and heartworm medicine (mom uses Simparica Plus because I spit out Interceptor plus at all cost). I have been chipped too! My genetic testing and hips have been done. I am part of a pack, but do fine on my own. I see mom is sad that it is time for me to move on. I know she will find me the perfect home and won't let me go to just anyone. If you are interested in making me yours, get in contact with my mom, her name is Teresa. https://www.facebook.com/UniqueTreasuredPuppies/

Frequently Asked Questions
About English Coonhound Puppies
About English Coonhound Puppies
What's it like owning a English Coonhound?
The English Coonhound is an absolute master of smell while on the hunt for furry raccoons, squirrels, and pretty much anything other small and interesting critters. These dogs are known for being gentle and loving with their families and are highly tolerant of young children. Full-grown, they typically weigh 45-65 pounds and stand 23-26 inches tall.
Are English Coonhounds friendly with strangers and kids?
English Coonhounds are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. The English Coonhound is eager to please, so if this is the dog for you, you've got a best friend for life. They're extremely active dogs who are best-suited for rural life, meaning they wouldn't do well living in a city or apartment setting. They're fairly vocal dogs that bark regularly.
What kind of exercise do English Coonhounds need?
The English Coonhound is a high-energy dog that needs a vast amount of daily exercise to keep these dogs healthy, both physically and mentally. If you're not taking them hunting, agility and fetch games everyday will help keep them from being bored and destructive. They are super fast runners that will leave you in their dust if you aren't careful. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How often should I brush a English Coonhound?
The English Coonhound's coat is hard and short, and they are average shedders. Their coats may be red ticked or blue ticked, with red, white, and black around the face and neck. These dogs require a minimum amount of grooming; simply brush as needed, roughly once a week or every two weeks, and bathe only as needed. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
What kind of home is best for a English Coonhound?
English Coonhounds are best suited for a house with a good-sized yard. They're extremely active dogs who are best-suited for rural life, meaning they wouldn't do well living in a city or apartment setting. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
