Grizzly and Specter were graciously returned to me, at no fault of their own, after their dad had a medical event that will not allow him to keep these boys. Grizzly is a very alert little guy. He has his eyes on everyone all the time. He is incredibly intelligent, learns very quickly, and loves puzzle/treat toys! Grizz would do best on a farm or in a very outdoor-heavy lifestyle. He does great with other dogs and behaves well in the truck. The family let me know these boys were very happy with their farm life, and were completely potty trained to the best of their knowledge. What we were unable to find out is if the boys received their vaccinations on schedule, so they have been given a booster out of caution. These puppies are farm-raised and socialized with a wide variety of animals including: poultry, cattle, sheep and donkeys. After initial vaccination rounds, they have also been introduced to other dogs, as well as dozens of new people. All have been taken to the local parks, as well as other farms and farm stores for extra socialization. All puppies have been working on their leash manners, as well as sitting to receive attention. They are up to date on vaccines and will continue to receive them on schedule while with us. Puppies can receive a 4th dose of worming before pickup on request. Each will be sent home with a ziploc of food to transition them to your food of choice, their vaccine slips for your records, as well as a toy and a chew for their first night. If you would like help picking out basic puppy supplies, fitting a leash & harness, or the current kibble, please let us know. Frequently Asked Questions
About Australian Cattle Dog Puppies
What makes Australian Cattle Dogs special?
With a long lineage of cattle herding ancestors, the Australian Cattle Dog, also called Blue or Red Heeler or Queensland Heeler, is known as a tireless, loyal breed that loves having something to do. They need mental and physical stimulation to stay out of trouble, but if you can keep them entertained, they’ll be wonderful companions. Full-grown, they typically weigh 35-50 pounds and stand 17-20 inches tall.
How do Australian Cattle Dogs behave around young children?
Australian Cattle Dogs are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. Australian Cattle Dogs make ideal companions for children and other dogs if they’re socialized at a young age and treated with respect. Their herding instinct may cause them to nip at running kids, so training is important to teach them good behavior. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.
How do I keep a Australian Cattle Dog physically active?
Australian Cattle Dogs have loads of energy and need lots of mental and physical stimulation. Otherwise, they're likely to get into trouble. Their herding roots make them great companions for running, biking, and other outdoor activities. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How much brushing and bathing does a Australian Cattle Dog need?
The Australian Cattle Dog’s outer coat is weather resistant, short, and a bit rough. The inner layer is short and thick. They are born with a white coat, but it darkens over time to become red-speckled or blue/blue mottled, and they often have markings as well. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Can a Australian Cattle Dog live in an apartment?
Australian Cattle Dogs are best suited for a rural property or home with a large yard. Australian Cattle Dogs are wary of strangers, so they may not be the best fit for homes with constant visitors. They’re an indoor/outdoor breed that needs the space of a home rather than the tight confinement of apartment. They are fairly easy to train.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
