About Pudsey

Pudsey is a “Chivalier” from a litter of three girls and two boys. An intentional mating of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Japanese Chin, they were in such a hurry to start life, they were all born within fifty five minutes. Named after towns in England, this is Pumpkin’s third and largest litter. She is a sweet, calm, 3 year old, 11 lb Blenheim Cavalier with the cutest mohawk on top her head. Pochi, the father, is a healthy, energetic 2 year old 8 lb black and white Japanese Chin with the pinkest tongue ever! This selection of breeds lengthens the brachiocephalic nose of the Chin and combines the Cavalier calmness and entertaining energy of the Chin to make the perfect calm, sweet, and fun pup! Raised indoors and out, under my watchful eye, none of my dogs are left to their own devices. I constantly evaluate nutritional needs and monitor moods. I give lots of hugs and attention, as they are the kids I never had. Lately they’ve been receiving Katherine Heigl’s air dried Superfood’s…a handful or two a day….which they love! I add to their food, in rotation, Missing Link for Puppies, Canine Complete, Bernie’s Perfect Poops and supplements for brain, heart, liver, kidney, bladder and calmness. Holistic and organic myself, I spoil my ”kids” with every advantage money can buy. Consider it my gift to you! The quality of dogs in the US have been going down each decade, and I am doing my best to turn this around. I deserve my many five star ratings as I work hard and spend anything to improve the quality of my dogs. The puppy you receive has every advantage. Your guarantee is lifetime support of the dog, benefiting by my hours of research and reading, and if you need to rehome them in the future my door is always open. Your peace of mind is knowing any puppy can be returned for full money back or another puppy. This economy means breeders are having a tough time staying in business. Gain comfort knowing my second job is being self-employed at home, which allows me full-time with my dogs. No corners are cut. Cheaper food is never implemented. No matter how bad the economy gets or how low puppy sales go, my passion to breed amazing dogs will never end. I waited 45 years to do this in my retirement. The idea of combining two breeds came to me in 1980, and now finding amazing combinations and making them healthy is my goal. Puppies will be ready to go at eight to ten weeks. Calls only. Frequently Asked Questions
About Japanese Chin Puppies
What should I know about Japanese Chins before buying one?
The Japanese Chin is also called the Chin or Japanese Spaniel. It is a little spaniel whose only bred purpose is to serve man as a companion. The Chin has a large, broad head, large wide-set eyes, and a short, broad muzzle. Full-grown, they typically weigh 7-11 pounds and stand 8-11 inches tall.
How are Japanese Chins with other pets?
Japanese Chins are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. This breed loves everyone that they're familiar with, but are known to be reserved around strangers and in unfamiliar situations, so be sure to socialize this dog well. If you do have small children, teach them to be nice and gentle with the dog. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.
How active are Japanese Chins on a daily basis?
Japanese Chins do not require a great deal of exercise and fit well into both busy families and elderly couples lifestyles, however they do need to be taken on a daily walk. They will enjoy the opportunity to play in an open yard. Overall, their exercise needs are low.
Are Japanese Chins high-maintenance when it comes to grooming?
Japanese Chins have long, flowing locks and a very soft wavy coat. Most often you’ll see Japanese Chins in black and white, red and white combinations are less common but very possible. Monthly baths are a good idea, and brushing at least a couple times a week will fend off tangles and knots. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Where do Japanese Chins do best — city or country?
Japanese Chins are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. Japanese Chins are good with other dogs and pets and are well-suited for apartment life. Keep in mind, this breed is somewhat sensitive to temperature extremes, so keeping them as indoor pets is wise. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.
Puppy Buyer's FAQ
See Full Guide Here
Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
