Savanna Ridgebacks

Rhodesian Ridgebacks entered my life through a friendship with a woman from South Africa. We met in 1985 at a horse stable in Southern California, bonding over our love of horses and dogs. She introduced me to the breed, and even after she returned to South Africa in 1991, we stayed close. In 1996, I got my first Ridgeback, Kenya, who made me fall in love with the breed. I later added a second, Crestridge Knysna, though living in the mountains made showing difficult. After moving, my friend encouraged me to explore African bloodlines. In 2006, I imported my first African Ridgeback, Shangani, from South Africa. He became a Grand Champion and ranked #9 in the U.S. in 2009. From then on, I knew Ridgebacks would always be part of my life.
