My husband and I founded Deep South Retrievers because we absolutely love Labrador Retrievers!! They are a fun-loving, intelligent, extremely social breed that make for great family and recreational companions. We take great pride in our puppies. From carefully selecting a sire that possesses both character and physical traits that are compatible for our female, providing exceptional care during pregnancy, to attending the birth of each puppy, we take whelping very seriously. We also carefully monitor the health and weight gain of each offspring to ensure they are all progressing as expected. We handle them multiple times throughout the day, rotating them through feedings, socializing with them, loving on them, and ensuring their environment stays clean, safe, and healthy. We also record any personality traits we see developing in the puppies to help provide a best selection to a loving individual or family. About our girl, Moore's Eleanor Mae- She has an exceptionally sweet temperament. Very mild and obedient! She loves snuggles and will do anything for a treat! She is very good at scent work games and loves riding in the car, as well as going for walks! Eleanor has bloodlines from Keepsake and Dutch Acres. Our sire, Moore’s Jake Roderick is an exceptional English Labrador Retriever. His genealogy is impressive, having parents imported from Europe. He is the most well mannered, laid back puppy I have ever had! Jake has received AKC STAR Puppy, AKC Trick Dog Novice, AKC Canine Good Citizen titles. He will be participating in his first Rally and Scentwork Trials this spring. He fetches my shoes and the leash when its time for a walk! He is incredibly smart, a natural on scent work, and loves training and playing! Not to mention he is the most amazing color to his coat and his father was fox red, coming from desirable bloodlines of Rubywood and Keepsake. Both parents have been genetically tested and are clear of the common panel of Labrador diseases according to PawPrint Genetics. They both have good hips and elbows. These are our family members. We produce one litter at a time and therefore spend ample amounts of time socializing with the puppies. We perform temperament tests, and I'm pleased to say that we have now produced multiple puppies who have gained their Service Dog Certificates. We love what we do.
