About Karen
My name is Karen Walker. I have 40+years of experience as a breeder. It all Started back in 1981 when my husband and I got our 1st dog, an AKC chow-chow. We raised this breed until 1998 and then after our last chow chow passed we decided to raise AKC Giant Schnauzers after seeing a pair of them on the Oregon coast. They were magnificent! So, we purchased our male and female giants. Sadly, my husband of 28 years passed away and he never did get to see a litter from them. I had 2 litters from my female. On her 2nd litter someone stole my male and my last pup! We never found them. When my female turned 5 in 2011 she had a seizure from out of nowhere that killed her. I was devastated but I was not ready to get another dog at this time in my life. In 2013, I met my current husband and when we got a home where we could have dogs again we got a Shepadoodle. (1/2 Shepherd 1/2 standard poodle.) his name is Willie Nelson (named because of how “chill & laid back” he is lol) and he is an amazing natural born therapy/support dog. He has played a big part with our current breed that we started 3 years ago. We noticed that Willie still shed more than we liked so we decided to have him neutered and instead we would raise standard poodles. Well, we fell in love with the breed! So smart! Wow! We didn’t have the money to go AKC, but we found our dame (Coco-belle) who was not altered from a breeder that had an English shepherd and didn’t want to have doodles, so she decided to sell Coco-belle their purebred standard poodle. She was at the perfect age to be able to breed right away. She was 3. Then we purchased our sire (Waylon Jennings) yep, have to keep them outlaws together!! lol. Although our dogs and pups are not AKC we wanted to raise healthy standard poodles at an affordable price for those who are not wanting to show them but want a large dog that doesn’t shed. We have been delighted with all the comments our buyers have said of our pups. Some of the owners of my previous litters have kept in contact with me and I can give references from them if desired. They all say the pups are amazing. Some are support animals. They are super intelligent and quick to learn! What makes this so in my opinion is the love and care and socializing they get from the time they are born. If interested please feel free to reach out to me and if you are wanting one of our puppies you can reserve now for $200 (non-refundable fee) unless something unforeseen happens before the animal is in your care.
About Karen Walker
We have our litters in our home. They are kept warm and safe until they go to their new homes. When they are 1st born, they are in a bedroom with a swimming pool prepared for birthing where we stay with our female (Coco-belle) the whole time she delivers her pups. We comfort her, change out the bedding and help her care for her pups during the whole process from start to finish. The pups remain here until they are old enough to be in the basement which offers them more room to play and explore. They are socialized very early on with our voices, hands and smell and once they are 6 weeks and have had their 1st vaccination and health check we take them downstairs to the main area where they learn to play with their parents and of course “uncle Willie” and all of us playing with them. We also have our great nieces who visit often, who hold and love on them and play with them!! Nothing cuter than a bunch of puppies exploring new places with young and old alike! My husband, myself and my sis-in-law take care of our elderly parents and we all live together in a large house with a large yard with a nice size dog run and dog house for outside play when it’s warm and dry out. They are able to watch the big dogs play ball etc. and they are so smart and begin bringing back balls just from watching their parents and Willie play. The pups are with us inside and outside weather permitting except when they need to eat, rest and sleep. This area is in the basement once they are fully weaned to sleep and be kept safe from thieves or weather etc. they are lovers because they have been shown nothing but love and care by all who live here and visitors. We use loving voices and praise, hand signals, and touch. We like to touch their ears, feet, clip their nails and let them hear and feel grooming tools to ease anxiety which can make a big difference.
