Mojave Whippets

We are Robin & Jaye. After running design & landscape businesses we sort of fell into breeding whippets when during the pandemic we weren’t able to neuter our eldest Kazu. Jaunty chats of one day breeding him piqued Robin’s interest (a former yoga & wellness instructor and having had some background in medicine) and seeded the start of a new mutual endeavor. A few hot summers and some online courses later Dris was pregnant and we were on our way to actualizing a vision. We are producing loving whippet companions: many traditional whippet breeders in the area have stringent restrictions regarding adopted families - largely a commitment to continue to show and compete adopted dogs to further the status of the breeder. Having worked with purebred CKCS in the past this rubbed me the wrong way - a dog is first and foremost a friend, a buddy, the consistent light in your days. Our puppies aren’t for us - they’re for you: rest assured they have been nurtured, cared for, exposed to stimuli, and loved in our household on a beautiful acreage in Yucca Valley, CA. Often our summers are spent traveling around the US and Canada, camping our way through lakes and forests from California to British Columbia to the waters of Lake Superior and the land of Southern BBQ. The dogs always join us and are eager and avid adventurers. We live with our dogs: they have full rein of the house, sleep in our bed, watch movies with us, and stare out the window ceaselessly when we're not home. Our dogs are terrific friends and truly love each other. Puppies are born at home: I grew up steeped in the medical industry and have worked in yoga and holistic health in the past. I deeply enjoy the process of guiding Dris as a mom from pregnancy to rehoming. Our dogs are friendly, happy, well nurtured and deeply loved. They are our friends. We strive to breed healthy puppies that are happy and comfortable companions in your life - wherever this wild adventure takes you.
