We are from Gunnison, Colorado, and breed purebred, AKC registered Bernese Mountain Dogs. My husband and I are the breeders behind Orso Montagna BMDs. Both the sire and dam are part of our family and live in our home. Our female had her first litter last year, and we also have prior experience breeding Labrador Retrievers. Both of our Bernese are purebred, AKC registered, and come from excellent lineage, with strong structure, intelligence, and exceptionally affectionate temperaments. We are especially proud of our female’s background — her mother lived to be 13 years old, which is remarkable for the breed! Our dam also served as a pediatric therapy dog, reflecting her gentle and intuitive nature. We are deeply committed to responsible breeding practices and the long-term health and well-being of our dogs. From pregnancy through placement, both mother and puppies receive attentive, hands-on care. We follow veterinary guidance for nutrition, supplementation, vaccinations, and deworming to ensure each puppy has the healthiest possible start. Our puppies are raised in our home and are thoughtfully socialized through daily interaction with our family and close friends. We share regular photo and video updates so families can follow along as the puppies grow, and we welcome scheduled visits to help families connect and find the best fit. Before going to their new homes, each puppy is: * Up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming * Examined and cleared by West Elk Vet Clinic Each puppy also goes home with a thoughtfully prepared puppy pack, including health records, AKC registration paperwork, a breeder contract, feeding guidance, a familiar comfort item, and more to help ensure a smooth transition. We are happy to provide references from families from our previous litter who can speak to their experience with us. We require a $200 deposit along with a signed deposit agreement.
