About Me
Welcome to our family farm in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, where we raise working-bred Akbash puppies with purpose, integrity, and respect for the breed’s heritage. Our puppies are born and raised alongside our Kiko goats so they grow up confident, attentive, and naturally suited for guardian work. We prefer to keep our puppies until 12 weeks of age to ensure they benefit from extended time with their mother, proper early development, and age-appropriate livestock exposure. This foundation helps them mature into reliable, well-balanced livestock guardian dogs. Breakheart_orchard@instagram break.heart.guardians@instagram Puppies are dewormed every two weeks beginning at two weeks old, and rear dew claws are removed within the first three days of life (front dew claws are kept for traction and functionality). Each puppy receives DHPP vaccinations. The puppies are Microchipped. They are also socialized with children and introduced gradually to livestock and farm life, tailored to their developmental stage. We are a small family operation, and while we love our dogs as part of our daily life, they are born to work. We take pride in raising Akbash puppies who are healthy, confident, and ready to excel in their roles as livestock guardians.
