Pecan Orchard Goldens is a small, family-run Golden Retriever program just outside Pearland, Texas. Our puppies are born and raised in our home, from our AKC-registered pair, Kai and Koa.
Every litter gets Early Neurological Stimulation on days 3 through 16, then hands-on socialization every day, including time outdoors in our pecan orchard and on our pond property. We place puppies at 12 weeks, never earlier. The first fear period falls at about 8 to 11 weeks, and puppies who spend it with their mom and littermates learn bite inhibition and dog-to-dog manners, so they come home calmer and more confident.
We evaluate our breeding dogs for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes, and we share every result with buyers, including any preliminary results. Every puppy goes home with full AKC registration, an AKC microchip, and a lifetime AKC Reunite membership (all paid for), plus veterinary and vaccination records and a written purchase agreement with a health guarantee. We are enrolled in AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. and are members of the Greater Houston Golden Retriever Club. At Pecan Orchard Goldens, we raise Golden Retrievers the way we believe every puppy deserves: slowly, carefully, and by hand. We're a small, family-run program on a pecan orchard and pond property just outside Pearland, Texas, and our puppies are born and raised in our home, from our AKC-registered pair, Kai and Koa.
Every litter gets Early Neurological Stimulation on days 3 through 16, then hands-on socialization every day with the sights, sounds, and textures of the orchard, the pond, and everyday family life.
Our most important commitment is this: no puppy leaves us before 12 weeks of age. Most puppies go home at 8 weeks, right at the start of their first fear period, which runs from about 8 to 11 weeks. During that window a single frightening experience can have a lasting effect, and leaving mom, littermates, and everything familiar is about the biggest upheaval a young puppy can face. We keep our puppies safely at home until that window has passed, so yours meets you calm, curious, and confident instead of overwhelmed. Those extra weeks also let mom and littermates finish teaching bite inhibition and dog-to-dog manners, which can spare you months of mouthing and play-biting. Your puppy will be further along in the vaccination series, and we'll know each personality well enough to help match the right puppy to your family.
