About Our Kennel Welcome to Dukes Doghouse – a small, family-owned breeding program dedicated to producing healthy, well-tempered, and high-quality Jack Russell Terrier puppies. Located near Fredericksburg, Virginia, we take great pride in our responsible breeding practices. Every litter is the result of careful planning, extensive health testing, and a genuine love for the breed. Our goal is not to produce the most puppies, but to produce the best puppies — companions that will bring joy and become beloved members of your family for many years. We have been working with and loving this breed for 22 years. Our Commitment to Excellence • Health First: All breeding dogs and puppies are up to date on vaccines, heart worm prevention as well as Flea and Tick medications. They have been fully vetted. • Temperament & Structure: We select breeding pairs not only for beautiful conformation but especially for calm, confident, and affectionate temperaments that make excellent family dogs who are easy to train. • Early Socialization: Our puppies are raised in our home, not in a kennel. They are handled daily from birth, exposed to children, other dogs, household noises, and various surfaces to ensure they are confident and adaptable. • Veterinary Care: Puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a complete health check by our veterinarian before going to their new homes. We have 20 years experience with this breed and 8 years experience as professional dog sitters and have taken certified courses in dog training , canine health , CPR and behavioral management. • You will receive a Puppy welcome packet with all their personal information and training skills. Supply of food, treats, blanket with mom’s scent, pet passport and all medical records as well as a coupon for future Vet Care at any participating PetVet location. Our Breeding Philosophy We only breed when we believe the pairing will improve the breed — never for profit alone. Our adult dogs live as cherished family members and receive the best possible care, nutrition, and enrichment. Because we are a small program, each litter receives our full attention and individualized care. Meet Our current Dame Elizabeth Bennett aka Lizzie. She is a 4 year old AKC purebred Jack Russell Terrier. She is short legged, broken coat and white and tan in color. She gave birth to her first litter of 8 puppies on Feb 5th 2026. Sired by our Sire King Louie of Orange who is a pure breed Jack Russell terrier. He is a 7 year old short legged smooth coat, all white with tricolor mask. Both Louie and Lizzie came from Karen Vick, a 3rd generation Jack Russell breeder in Nashville, NC. Application & Placement Process: We carefully screen every family to ensure our puppies go to loving, prepared homes. The process includes: • Puppy application • Phone or in-person interview • Details of your home life and any other pets you have to best match you with one of our pups We want our puppies to thrive, and we take matching the right puppy to the right family very seriously. Jack Russells have an average lifespan of 13 years so this is a long term commitment. We believe in lifetime care for our puppies. If for any reason you can no longer keep your puppy, please know we are always here to take them back no questions asked to ensure they remain safe, healthy and loved.
