Wood Farmstead is from Texas and breeds German Shorthaired Pointers, Broiler Chickens, Coturnix Quail, Bobwhite, and Blue Scaled Quail. We live on a 100-acre property in West Texas where we raise our family. We believe in raising our animals with love and care. Our Dogs are more like family than pets.
We moved from the Suburbs of NJ to West Texas where our family and Dogs love to Hunt Wild Bobwhite Quail in the morning and then spend the afternoon sleeping on the couch. We raise our puppies with love and care and our only wish is to have each and every puppy find a Forever home that will care for them like we have.
About Wood Farmstead
At Wood Farmstead, our German Shorthaired Pointer puppies are raised hands-on in our home, not in an outdoor kennel. They start life in our master bathroom in a custom whelping box, where they are around adults, children, their dam, and our family dogs throughout the day. This helps them grow up used to normal household activity, handling, noise, and attention from the start.
Once they are old enough, the puppies go outside every two hours for 30–60 minutes at a time, depending on the weather. We begin potty training around 5½ weeks and introduce them to quail feathers and wings around 7 weeks to encourage their natural hunting instincts.
Both parents are indoor family dogs and proven hunting companions. They live with us, play with our kids, and also hunt 40+ days during the season. Our goal is to raise confident, well-socialized GSP puppies with the drive to hunt and the temperament to be loyal family companions.
