All of our puppies here are rescues. Each puppy goes home up to date on vaccinations and deworming, with documentation provided. As an in-home rescue, our pups receive plenty of one-on-one family time and are well-socialized with children, cats, and other dogs.
Also, all pups are started on basic commands obedience training while here as well as potty training to give them the best chance for success in their new homes.
Our adoption process is simple—puppies are first come, first pick, with no holds unless someone is already on their way. We do not take deposits or any upfront payments, and we never arrange shipping. All adoptions are done in person so you can meet your puppy first. If it’s the right fit, you can take your puppy home the same day. Cash payments only at this time.

Happy Paws Specialty Rescue is a small, in-home puppy rescue located in Homer, Michigan. We focus on helping rescue puppies, pregnant dogs, and special-needs cases find safe, loving homes.
Our puppies are raised in a family environment with individual attention and exposure to children, cats, and other dogs when appropriate. Before adoption, each puppy receives age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, with records provided to the adopter. We also begin basic routine training, including early potty-training habits and simple commands when age appropriate.
We believe meeting your puppy in person is important. For everyone’s safety, we do not ship puppies or accept deposits before an in-person meeting. Our goal is to help each puppy find a committed, loving forever home.
