Recently got into showing and imported Wirehair dachshunds! All parents are health tested through ofa, Lafora tested, and have dna on file! All studs are showing or currently finished in confirmation. Occasionally have working line import German Shepherds.
About Illyria Dox & GSD
Welcome to Illyria Dox & GSD! Our passion is preserving and promoting the wonderful Wirehaired Dachshund. While we occasionally have German Shepherds, our primary focus is producing healthy, correct, and versatile Wirehaired Dachshunds with exceptional temperaments.
We are fortunate to live on a remote farm in Eastern Kentucky, where our dogs enjoy the freedom to live as dogs should. Because we both work from home, our dogs are rarely alone and spend their days by our side—exploring the farm, chasing critters, swimming, and enjoying plenty of physical and mental enrichment. They are truly part of our family.
In our spare time, we actively compete in AKC Conformation, Fast CAT, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), and Trick Dog events. We believe in proving our dogs not only in the show ring but also through sound temperament, trainability, and versatility.
Our breeding program is intentionally small, with eight females and three males, including co-owned dogs. This allows us to give every dog the individual attention they deserve while carefully planning each litter with health, temperament, and breed preservation in mind.
Many of the dogs in our breeding program are imported from some of the world's most respected Wirehaired Dachshund kennels, allowing us to incorporate outstanding international bloodlines into our program. We also greatly value exceptional domestic lines and believe outstanding dogs can be found both here and abroad. Every breeding is selected based on the individual dog's quality, health, temperament, and ability to contribute positively to the breed.
Our goal is to produce Wirehaired Dachshunds that are beautiful, structurally sound, healthy, and capable of excelling as beloved family companions, performance dogs, and successful show dogs. When you bring home an Illyria puppy, you're becoming part of our extended family, and we're committed to supporting you throughout your dog's lifetime.
