My wife and I have been married for 48 years and now as we’re retired, we wanted to once again breed our absolutely favorite dog breed which is a Maltese. We have two Maltese our older named Tika. She is 15 years old this October, and is still very healthy and the youngest and second dog we have is named Jewell and she’s 2 1/2 years old and this is her first litter and what a great mom she is!!! We’re so proud of Jewels. She gets her name Jewels as my wife asked me for a gift on her anniversary two years ago and that was a Maltese puppy so she laughingly says that she got Jewels as an anniversary gift. We retired in Phoenix, Arizona, 3 1/2 years ago and found that we had some extra time and wanted to get back to one of the loves of our life, puppies. We started out many years ago before our professional lives got so busy breeding Shih Tzu breeds in Oregon where we raised our family of 5 including 3 adopted girls all sisters and now we enjoy many grandchildren. We wanted to be breeders again. Why now breed Maltese? Our oldest Tika now 15 has convinced us she’s the best breed at least for us and now it’s are favorite. And our 2yr old Jewel is the same can’t say enough about how great their temperament and companionship. Our grown children are excited we are getting back to being breeders and although we don’t expect to have many litters it’s been a blast to do it again!! Are grandchildren are really excited and enjoying the opportunity to see this wonderful miracle of life in our home.
