I have always been an animal lover. As a child we always had pets. I grew up watching Scooby Doo so as an adult I got my first Great Dane and have had several since. I absolutely love the breed. They are definitely gentle giants with hearts as big as their bodies. Our dogs aren't just pets they are family members. We take them camping, on vacation, etc. Our Danes sleep in our bedroom with us at night and they love to play with our children and grandchild. They are very loved and spoiled. I am a retired nurse, so nurturing comes naturally to me whether its people or animals. I believe every animal deserves love, safety and a warm couch to lie on.
