About Carol
I live in Alaska, which I think is the perfect climate for Samoyeds, but am willing to transport my puppies to their new homes in many places in the US.
I became interested the breed because I was a spinner and wanted to spin their undercoat into yarn. After obtaining my first Samoyed, an adult rescue, I decided I wanted to get a puppy to show and breed and started looking for reputable breeders who health tested their dogs. I have always been impressed with the overall good temperaments of the breed, but have made it a priority that my dogs have excellent temperaments. I bred my first litter nearly 45 years ago, but breed very rarely, only when I want to keep a puppy out of the litter. My dogs have been successful in the show ring including winning Best of Breed at Westminster. Besides showing my dogs, I also compete in agility as well as use them as sled dogs.
About Subarktika Samoyed
Our dogs are all house dogs and sleep in our bedroom at night. Puppies are born in a whelping box and when they are mobile an exercise pen is added to give them more space. Dogs are mostly walked on leash, although we also have a gravel dog yard where the adult dogs occasionally go.
