About Jay
About My Puppies I raise my puppies inside my home, where I personally provide plenty of love, attention, handling, and individualized care from the very beginning. They are raised in a dedicated spare bedroom set up as their whelping and puppy area, giving them a safe, clean, comfortable environment to sleep, play, eat, learn, and interact with their littermates. The puppies spend most of their time in their whelping playpen while they are young, allowing me to closely monitor them and provide a consistent environment. Their mother has full access to her puppies, allowing her to care for and interact with them naturally while they learn important social skills from Mom and their littermates. Because they are raised in my home, I am personally involved with them throughout the day. I periodically sleep in the room with the puppies, both to monitor them and address anything that may need attention, and to help desensitize them to the normal presence, sounds, and movement of a person around them. Early Learning & Socialization These puppies are already showing me just how smart, observant, and eager to learn they are. I am intentionally working with them on age-appropriate skills and experiences, including: Litter-pan training β They are doing an excellent job developing good early potty habits. Patience at mealtimes β They are learning to wait calmly for their food. Hard kibble transition β They are doing very well transitioning to solid food, with the goal of being fully on hard kibble by approximately 8 weeks. Positive bite redirection β Normal puppy mouthing is calmly redirected toward appropriate behaviors. Gentle handling β Their paws, tails, ears, and other areas are handled regularly to prepare them for grooming, veterinary care, and everyday handling. Sound desensitization β They are exposed to natural nature sounds and appropriate household noises. One-on-one time β I spend individual time with each puppy away from their siblings to encourage confidence and comfort with short periods of separation. Positive human interaction β Each puppy receives plenty of affection, attention, and gentle handling. For their safety while young, the puppies remain primarily indoors. Around 8 weeks, when appropriate for their age and development, I will begin introducing them to more experiences outside their familiar whelping area. Finding the Right Match These are bright, intelligent puppies who will benefit from continued training, structure, patience, and socialization. They are not recommended for a first-time dog owner. As their personalities develop, I will share what I observe about each puppy, including temperament, energy level, confidence, favorite activities, and the type of home I feel may suit them best. If you are interested in one of my puppies, please send me a message with some details about your lifestyle, dog experience, household, and what you are looking for in a puppy. Let me know what type of personality you feel would fit you best and what you hope to do with your new companion. The more I know about you and what you are looking for, the better I can use my experience with these puppies to give you my best judgment on which puppy may be the best fit for your lifestyle and home.
