About Us: Breeding, Training, & Rescue
With 25 years of experience, our program is a dedicated hobby built on a deep love for dogs and a commitment to their future. We specialize in raising high-quality Coton de Tulears, Glen of Imaal Terrier mixes, and Saint Berdoodles for both loving companionship and service work. Because we believe in the quality and longevity of our bloodlines, all puppies from our breeding program come with a 5-year health guarantee against any genetic diseases that would prevent them from living a full, happy life.
*Our Training & Service Commitment
We don't just breed; we prepare our puppies for the world. Starting at 4 weeks old, every puppy undergoes basic obedience and critical desensitization training. We have a special focus on training dogs for dedicated service tasks, which allows us to fulfill a deeply personal mission: donating service dogs to families with children who have autism or other special needs.
*To ensure our dogs are always protected, all of our bred puppies are placed under strict spay or neuter contracts. However, if you are explicitly interested in an AKC Coton de Tulear, Glen of Imaal Terrier, Saint Berdoodle, or Standard Poodle for breeding purposes, I would be happy to reach out and help connect you with another reputable breeder who handles breeding rights.
*Our Heart for Rescue & Rehabilitation
Beyond our structured breeding program, a massive piece of our heart belongs to dog rescue. We actively take in local strays in desperate need of help, as well as dogs surrendered directly to us.
Every single rescue dog that enters our home receives tailored rehabilitation and basic obedience training to set them up for a successful fresh start. The adoption fee for our rescues is highly subsidized—it reflects only a fraction of the actual cost of their medical care, which includes being fully spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, dewormed, and thoroughly examined by our veterinarian. The extensive obedience training, basic daily care, and endless hours of time spent working with them is entirely our bonus and gift to you and the dog—plus, all of our rescue adoptions come with optional free follow-up dog training sessions to ensure a smooth transition.
*Working with Our Local Shelter & Community
-When local strays come into my care, I immediately work with the local animal shelter to ensure they are scanned for a microchip. I keep the dogs safely at my home to evaluate them, which gives their original owners a fair, safe window of time to claim them.
If they are not claimed, I ensure they are thoroughly examined by our vet and pass a strict behavior assessment before they are officially placed up for adoption.
-Why This Matters: Our local shelter faces crowded conditions and will euthanize dogs simply because they run out of space. By actively taking in strays and surrenders directly into my home, rehabilitating them, and rehoming them independently, I am keeping those dogs out of the system entirely. Every dog we care for means one less dog entering a crowded facility, buying precious time for the dogs already at the shelter so they have a chance to find the life they deserve.
*Community Training & Support:
-Let's Get Every Dog Trained!
Even if you are just reading this and ultimately decide to purchase or adopt a dog from someone else, my door is still open to you. My ultimate goal is happy, well-behaved dogs in every home. I would be absolutely thrilled to discuss training course options with you and help you get your new puppy—or any dog you currently have or know—properly trained.
-As part of my commitment to the community, I host a completely free training class one or two times a month in Wilmington, NC. Everyone is welcome, and the more the merrier! I would love to have you join us with your furry friend—absolutely free of charge.
About Ashley L.
-Our Training & Breeding Philosophy-
I am dog trainer and dedicated hobby breeder with a deep focus on temperament, trainability, and real-world working ability. Every pairing I plan is intentional, with the goal of producing dogs who are emotionally sound, adaptable, and capable of excelling as both companions and working partners.
The pricing of our puppies reflects that they are placed strictly as companions or working prospects, not for breeding. All puppies are sold on a mandatory spay/neuter contract, which must be completed prior to placement in their new homes. This allows me to prioritize health, temperament, and quality of life over volume or reproduction.
-Purpose-Bred for Temperament & Work-
Each breed in my program is chosen for specific traits that support service work, emotional support, and lifelong companionship:
•Coton de Tulear (Purebred)
Bred for companionship and emotional support work, Cotons are affectionate, intuitive, and people-focused. Their gentle nature and emotional sensitivity make them exceptional companions for individuals seeking comfort, stability, and connection.
•Glen of Imaal Terrier × Coton de Tulear Mix This intentional mix combines the Glen’s confidence, resilience, and steadiness with the Coton’s warmth, intelligence, and biddability. The result is a dog with strong character, emotional balance, and the potential for service-oriented work while remaining an excellent family companion.
•Future Program: Saint Berdoodles
Looking ahead, I will be introducing Saint Berdoodles into the program specifically for service work and mobility assistance. These dogs are being planned with structure, strength, temperament, and trainability in mind to support individuals with physical and mobility-related needs.
-Training From the Start-
All puppies in our program receive early foundation training before going home. This includes:
Basic training skills appropriate for their age
Early neurological stimulation
Structured desensitization to sights, sounds, textures, and handling
By the time they leave, puppies are confident, curious, and prepared for continued training in their new homes or working environments.
-Real-World Experience-
One of our previous puppies was cast in the movie Merv, where I had the opportunity to work on set. The photo displayed on this site — featuring Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox holding the puppy — was taken by me during filming. It’s a special reminder of the calm temperament, adaptability, and presence our dogs are capable of even in high-stimulus environments.

Puppy Updates
Potty training is going perfectly! They all ask very loudly to be let out of the indoor play pen. All I have to do is open our back door since a few are still unsure about the dog door, then pick them up set them right down and say ok run and do go do a poo poo and pee pee. Then they run about 30 feet out the door down the ramp or stairs and promptly go. Tonight was is the first night I didn't have to carry them out.
🦴Videos of their training are available upon request.
