I’ve set up a dedicated whelping area that’s specifically designed to keep my dog and her puppies safe, secure, and comfortable. The space is fully enclosed so the puppies can’t wander out, giving them a protected environment to grow in. I use heat lamps to keep them warm, along with soft blankets for comfort—but I’m careful not to overcrowd the area so there’s no risk of them getting tangled or rolled up. As the puppies get older and more active, I gradually expand their space to give them room to explore and play. I also introduce a litter pan early on, which is cleaned daily to keep everything sanitary and help start good habits from the beginning. When they have had all their vaccinations and are big enough. I will let them play in the big outdoor fenced in area.
