About Locust Grove
My name is Nancy, and I’ve been responsibly breeding dogs for the past 3 years—but I’ve been “part dog” my whole life. If there’s a dog in the room, they usually find me first, and I’m just as drawn to them. Friends and family joke that I’m a dog whisperer, but really it’s years of listening, watching, and learning how dogs think and feel.
Our Labradoodles are our “kids,” not just puppies we sell. I’m hands-on with them from the moment they’re born—handling, socializing, and gently exposing them to everyday sights and sounds so they grow up confident and happy. I pay close attention to each puppy’s personality so I can help match them with the right family and set everyone up for a great fit.
I’ve spent countless hours learning about dog health, nutrition, behavior, grooming, and training. I love sharing what I’ve learned and walking new families through everything from first-night tips and potty training to brushing, nail trims, and grooming schedules. My goal is simple: to send you home with a healthy, well-adjusted Labradoodle and to be a support for you long after your puppy leaves our farm.

🚜 At Locust Grove, a dog’s life is a real dog’s life: fresh air, open fields, and plenty of playtime. We are the fourth generation to farm our family's land here in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia. We are located in Bedford County, an easy drive from Lynchburg, Roanoke, or Smith Mountain Lake!
We raise cattle and chickens on our hundred acres, and we also raise Labradoodles and Corgis. Our puppies are raised with plenty of fresh air, daily attention, and lots of love from our family.
🐶🐶🐶The puppies we raise leave us with a good foundation in potty training, but real success happens when their new family keeps working with them in their own home routine.

You are welcome to come out to our family's farm by appointment and pick up their puppy in person. We truly love meeting our puppy families face to face and putting a smile with a name. Most families choose to get their Labradoodle right here from our place in Virginia, and it’s a great chance for you to see where your puppy was raised, meet the parents when possible, and ask any questions before you head home.
Once puppies are ready to go, we’ll set up a pickup time that works for you, send you easy directions, and let you know exactly what to bring on pickup day.
For families who can’t make the trip, we may offer limited delivery for an additional fee, but we do not allow any third-party pickup. We do not work with flight nannies, transport services, or anyone sent “on behalf of” the buyer. These pups are our “kids,” and they stay in our hands until they go directly to their new family. If delivery is available to your area, we are the ones who drive the puppy to you in a safe, climate‑controlled vehicle. We do not ship puppies as cargo and only use arrangements that keep your puppy safe, supervised, and with us the whole way.

Our mission is to accumulate our puppies to a variety of of environments stimulating situations and have them ready for every activity a family enjoys with their puppy ! They would rather be with their family not waiting on them to get home. We support take the puppy on vacation !!!!
