About Albert
I'm a board member at Purple Lotus Temple, helping with outreach for Thunder Gate Kennel — a small kennel owned by the temple and managed by a fellow temple member. The temple's quiet, secluded property made it vulnerable to break-ins, which led us to look into guard dogs. One of our members ended up raising two Cane Corsos, and last year they had their first litter. It's been a real learning experience for all of us, and we're now looking for the right homes for these dogs — people who can give them the space, training, and structure they deserve.
About Thunder Gate Kennel
Our dogs are raised on a Buddhist temple's 5-acre property in the Bay Area, where a small, consistent group of caretakers handles their daily care. All dogs are provided an indoor crate to rest and sleep, kept on a routine walk schedule, and given their own space across the grounds rather than crowded together. Pups are fed a raw diet in early stages, transitioning to a combination of raw and kibble — making them more manageable as home pets without losing the benefits of a raw foundation. Our current litter comes from Phobos and Freya, both raw-fed since puppyhood with stable, moderate temperaments — proven capable of structured training without the high-strung intensity some Cane Corso lines carry. Every pup is AKC registered and DNA verified, with both parents' lineage publicly documented, a health certificate from a licensed vet, full wellness screening, and microchipping already done before they go home. We're upfront that this litter was raised in a contained environment with limited exposure to strangers and no socialization with other dogs — so we're looking for experienced large-breed owners ready to continue that work, not first-time dog owners.
