About Meghan
Meghan Jenkins is a middle school teacher, retired Army combat veteran, entrepreneur, dog trainer, and mother of seven who believes that education should prepare students for life—not just the next test. After serving her country in the United States Army, Meghan transitioned into education with the same commitment to leadership, accountability, and service that guided her military career. Today, she teaches U.S. History and Career Development at Alpine Academy in Chubbuck, Idaho, where she has developed one of the region's most unique middle school entrepreneurship programs. Under her leadership, students don't simply learn about careers—they experience them. Through mock interviews, business development, public speaking, financial literacy, website design, and real-world entrepreneurship, students gain practical skills that prepare them for future success. Her students have collectively generated more than $41,000 in business revenue while learning responsibility, professionalism, and community engagement. Outside the classroom, Meghan is actively involved in dog training and working dog development. As a trainer and advocate for responsible dog ownership, she works with dogs ranging from family companions to personal protection and working dogs. Her training philosophy emphasizes clear communication, consistency, confidence, and building strong relationships between dogs and their handlers. Meghan's experiences as a combat veteran, educator, business owner, and dog trainer all share a common theme: helping others reach their full potential. Whether she is mentoring a student entrepreneur, training a young dog, or supporting members of her community, she believes growth comes through hard work, discipline, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. When she is not teaching or training dogs, Meghan enjoys supporting her children's activities, helping operate family businesses, and finding opportunities to serve her community. Her mission is simple: **Develop confident leaders, capable problem-solvers, and responsible citizens who are prepared to make a positive impact on the world around them.**
About Keep It Simple K9
## About Our Kennel At Keep It Simple K9, we believe every dog deserves a purpose, a solid foundation, and a family committed to helping them succeed. Our breeding and training program focuses on producing stable, confident, healthy dogs with sound temperaments and strong working ability while maintaining the qualities that make them exceptional family companions. Our dogs are raised on acreage where they have room to run, explore, and develop naturally. They are not kennel-bound dogs. They receive daily exercise, environmental enrichment, and regular interaction with people, livestock, vehicles, children, and a variety of real-world situations that help build confidence and resilience. Because we are professional dog trainers, every puppy benefits from early neurological stimulation, age-appropriate socialization, confidence-building exercises, and positive exposure to new sights, sounds, and surfaces. We evaluate each puppy's temperament and drives so we can help match them with the right home, whether that is an active family, sport competitor, service dog prospect, personal protection home, or working environment. Health is a top priority. Our breeding dogs are selected for sound temperament, structural quality, and working ability. Puppies receive routine veterinary care, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and health records before going to their new homes. We believe our responsibility extends beyond the day a puppy leaves. We provide lifetime breeder support and are always available to answer questions regarding training, nutrition, behavior, and development. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our puppy families and ensure every dog has the opportunity to thrive. In addition to our breeding program, we are deeply involved in rescue through Elevate K9 Working Dog Rescue. We evaluate, train, and place rescue dogs into appropriate homes, giving deserving dogs a second chance while helping educate owners about responsible dog ownership. Our mission is simple: produce exceptional dogs, support responsible owners, and improve the future of the breeds we love through ethical breeding, professional training, and lifelong commitment.
