In a personal level, its my opinion that a dog is as much of a member of the family as anyone in the household. However, for that to be successful with an Akita, correct boundaries and training is necessary. Routines are just as important as feeding diets. Consistency has in return given us two loyal protectors that my children love and play with daily.
