About Sarah
Our story began in 2016 after nearly a year of research, countless hours of searching, and even a trip to Oklahoma to find the right dog. That’s when Ruger came into our lives, and he quickly became so much more than a pet—he became family. In 2017, we brought Whiskey home to be his companion, and from the moment they met, they were inseparable. We never planned to breed them; in fact, Whiskey was scheduled to be spayed. But sometimes life has a way of making its own plans, and before we knew it, we were preparing for puppies. As we began looking for their forever homes, I found myself thinking about how difficult our own search for Ruger had been. So many wonderful families were looking for an Australian Shepherd they could afford—one with the intelligence, personality, and qualities we love about the breed, without the expensive “show dog” price tag.
For us, our dogs have always been family first. We believe their happiness and well-being should come before anything else. We never force them to breed, and if they don’t want to, that’s perfectly okay. When our puppies find their families, we want it to be a lifelong connection built on love, trust, and care—not simply a transaction. We provide for their veterinary care, food, and everything they need because they deserve the very best from the moment they’re born. If you’ve been searching for an Aussie and your journey has felt anything like ours, we hope we can help you find not just a puppy, but a loving new member of your family.
About Dirt Road Aussies
Our puppies are raised in a loving, enriching environment where they have plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and learn. They spend much of their day outdoors enjoying fresh air and sunshine, surrounded by other friendly dogs and cattle. This helps them become comfortable in a variety of sights, sounds, and everyday experiences.
Throughout the day, our puppies also spend time inside our home where they are introduced to household noises, different surroundings, and the hustle and bustle of family life. They have opportunities to interact with children and experience the sights and sounds they may encounter in their future homes.
Most importantly, our puppies receive lots of love, attention, and hands-on interaction every day. We believe consistent socialization and positive human interaction help puppies grow into confident, happy, well-adjusted companions who are ready to become a beloved part of your family.
