I have been breeding dogs for over 20 years. I am not new to this, and I do not treat a litter like a side project. My focus is German Shepherds from West German show lines—dogs with correct structure, stable temperament, and the ability to live in the home while still having the presence and drive for sport, protection, or serious family work.
I breed for type, health, and character. That means selecting parents for sound hips and elbows, clear-headed nerve, and the kind of temperament that holds up in real life—not just in a photo. I want dogs that look like German Shepherds, move like German Shepherds, and can settle in the house.
Puppies are raised in a family environment. They are handled early, socialized to people and everyday life, and started with structure so they leave prepared. I would rather place fewer puppies in the right homes than sell quickly to anyone with a deposit.
I work with buyers who take the breed seriously: families who want a well-bred companion, and owners who may later pursue titles, obedience, or protection. After more than two decades of breeding, my standard has not changed. Every litter is planned. Every puppy is known. Every placement should be a long-term fit.

Iron Cross K9 is a small German Shepherd breeding program built around West German show lines. We are not a high-volume kennel and we are not breeding for trends. The goal is simple: produce German Shepherds with correct type, documented health, and the temperament to live in a real home.
We use West German show lines because, when they are bred honestly, they give the best mix of structure, nerve, and trainability. These dogs should look like German Shepherds, move like German Shepherds, and have the off-switch to live in the house. They should also have enough confidence and working ability for obedience, protection, sport, or a serious family guardian role.
What we select for
• Sound hips, elbows, and overall structure
• Stable, clear-headed temperament
• Correct West German type and balanced drive
• Health testing and documentation
• Dogs that can be titled and that produce puppies worth titling
How puppies are raised Puppies are whelped and raised in a family environment. They are handled early, socialized to people, surfaces, sounds, and everyday life, and started with basic structure so they leave prepared—not raw. Buyers should be able to meet the parents when possible, understand the pedigree, and know exactly what they are getting.
Who we place with We place puppies with people who take the breed seriously: families who want a beautiful, stable shepherd in the home, and owners who may later pursue USCA/SV work, conformation, obedience, or protection. We are not looking for the cheapest sale. We are looking for the right home.
Iron Cross K9 exists to keep the German Shepherd what it is supposed to be—an intelligent, loyal, structurally correct dog with presence and purpose—while keeping the program small enough that every litter is planned, every puppy is known, and every placement is intentional.
