Welcome to Northwoods Cavaliers — a small, family-run kennel located in the heart of Akeley, Minnesota, United States, where towering pines, clean country air, and family roots shape everything we do.
Our story here began long before our first litter of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. In fact, one of Akeley’s best-known landmarks — the legendary lumberjack, Paul Bunyan Statue — was built by our own family. Rick, along with his dad and brothers, helped construct the world’s largest Paul Bunyan right here in Akeley — a symbol of hard work, pride, craftsmanship, and deep Northwoods heritage.
