My family and I have a small ranch with sheep and chickens and wanted protection for our animals with livestock guardian dogs. We brought into our family our male Anatolian Shepherd / Great Pyrenees “Hank” almost three years ago and last year welcomed “Honey” who is a Great Pyrenees. They work together well keeping the flock safe while also integrating and living among them. The temperament, protective drive, and calm demeanor of the Great Pyrenees and Anatolian breeds are just some of the characteristics of why we love these types of dogs so much. Our dogs have protected the flock and our family from numerous threats some of them being; coyotes, cats, stray dogs (some very vicious), hawks & other predator birds, moose, and delivery drivers. They have also remained with the flock when the sheep got out of the pasture and stayed with them until everyone was brought home. We are happy we get to share these wonderful LGDs with other family farms to keep their flocks and families safe.
About RWB Ranch
Honey has a large whelping area in our main barn and has enjoyed the peace and quiet to deliver her pups. Hank and the sheep and chickens get to roam the pasture and lean-to as they are enjoying the cooler temperatures.
