As a dedicated small scale breeder, we prioritize the health and well being of our ACD Heeler puppies. We ensure the pups are in home born, well socialized, fed nutritious kibbles, meats, and age appropriate bones, and started on puppy training.
At this time, we only will be raising two litters each year, and the puppies will come in both red roans, and blue roans for colors.
Australian Cattle Dogs are bred to be versatile working dogs, capable of herding cattle, horses, sheep, and other animals. The breed in known for its intelligence, energy, athletic abilities, and strong bonding loyalty. This makes them ideal companions for active families, country life styles, and especially ranches.
Years ago I raised a small breed, Shih Tzus. After raising some micro mini, imperial sized, and standard size Shih Tzus 3 to 10 pounds full grown, I was amazed at the easier birthing the ACD female has in comparison to a small breed of dog. The ACD puppies I have raised have thrived so well from birth to 4 weeks old when they are already eating out of a dish, and by 6 weeks of age they are very hardy, running, wrestling with siblings, and jumping and playing with anything that is a toy to them.
This breed is known for bonding with a main person, they tend to be like glue with that human. I have found this breed of puppies to be surprisingly quick to learn obedience lessons for small treats as their reward. Living on a horse farm, I always have a Heeler by my side to protect me as there is large wildlife that appears on the farmstead. The adults are alert with keen senses, and instincts, just what makes me feel sage 24/7 joining me for hours outside. They will help me by weaving behind the horses, and foals to nudge the horses I am leading, and also help me load one in a trailer. They are great with the foals being trained, and being desensitized. They are a unique breed with the ancestry of the Australian Dingo, and Kelpie. They tend to be known best for herding cattle, and sheep; yet for me they are a great fit on a horse farm. They will spend hours riding in the cab of a tractor, or a dump truck, and semi truck with us, and that is the cats meow haha to them for (just more quality time with their human at work).

The adult companion ACD's live in the house with us. They spend time outside on the horse farm daily sharing in horse chores, riding in the cab of a tractor, and going to work in the semi or dump truck on special days.
A mommy ACD has a midwife throughout delivering puppies, and tending to all their needs during birthing, keeping them warm, nursing, and thriving. Mom and puppies always have a personal space that is just theirs where puppies are safe and warm. At four weeks of age they typically are interested in their mom's food, so I start feeding them their own food more appropriate for their nutricious needs. All puppies get playtime outside once they are old enough to run and frolic, typically 90 minutes total on a good weather day. They all learn their boundaries at a young age ! We do have a chain linked larger type dog exercise pen in the yard available when one may be needed.
