About Virginia
For 20+ years we bred AKC conformation champion level American Cocker Spaniels, and finished 8 homebred AKC champions, specializing in roans. We no longer have Cockers - too much grooming!, but have longhaired & plush coat Chihuahuas and Saint Bernards. Since we do not show them, they aren’t registered. Be aware that regardless of registration or lack there of, no predictions for weight, personality, or size are guaranteed. ***All of the puppies we breed are bred for beauty and personality. They grow up at our home, begin potty training, and have all vaccinations based on age. Our home does not have any children, and we do not recommend leaving any puppy, regardless of the child's or puppy’s age, alone with a child. Our home also does not have any indoor cats, but does have a Sun Conure, so in general, all our puppies will acclimate to any household into which they are taken fairly quickly. ***Be aware that the first day or two, until they get used to the sounds and smells and sights, any new puppy’s environment will be a little scary for them. After a while, everything will become comfortable, they will settle in, and your puppy's true personality will begin to shine through. ***The thing that we love about Chihuahuas, and in particular the long haired ones, is their sunny personality. They are little clowns, which is why they are so often used in circus performances, but also snugglers. There are even some who will sleep under the covers with you, or like in our home, on our pillows or at the top of our heads to soak up our warmth and be close to us. ***The thing we love about Saints is their gentle nature. They are super affectionate, and oddly have a tendency to “lean” on people instead of just standing next to them. Our Saints are sweethearts and love each other and us. Both of them have what is called “half-face” markings, which means their mask does not cover both eyes, and since that is genetic, we get really interesting and sometimes rare puppy markings. Our Saints are also both what is called “dry mouthed,” which means they don’t drool. Our Saint puppies are weather acclimated and grow up with tons of affection. ***We do not allow in-person puppy visits - we are protective of our home and puppy health. We take PayPal and Venmo, especially for deposits. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable to another litter, if you so choose. ***We advocate for spaying / neutering your puppy, but do NOT agree with the new trend of spaying/neutering at any age before 6 months. For females is it an invasive surgery (they are cut open) and no puppy needs to experience anesthesia at such an early age unless it’s an emergency. In males, their testis do not descend until about 6 months and if they haven’t, the surgery becomes invasive in order to find them. *** We do not offer guarantees of size, weight, personality, or any other uncontrollable aspect of any puppy’s growth or your experience. We do, however, honor the transferable deposit, and do work with people who have suffered the loss of one of our dogs. We also offer special pricing for return customers and those who buy more than one pup at a time. Please ask us about these if they apply.
