I'm a licensed breeder in Central Texas. I've got about 14yrs experience mostly with dachshunds and some with corgis. By being state licensed, I get inspected every 12-18 months by the state and I've also been inspected by AKC several times. I'm passionate about dachshunds and strive to produce healthy, beautiful and well socialized puppies. I've dabbled in some dog sports when I have the time. I've got one male who's titled in nosework, had a qualifying run in FastCat and participated twice in the dachshund field trials. I've got another male in nosework classes now. All litters are exposed to ENS(early neurological stimulation) and many exposed to ESI (early scent introduction) which helps in their development and also helps them to be less stressed and easier to train as they grow up. I've got one male who is with a handler running the show circuit, we're hoping he is able to come home a champion.
About Southern Dachshunds
My space has changed so many times throughout the years trying to find the best of both worlds, comfort for the dogs and ease of cleaning for me. Most of my outdoor runs are covered in synthetic turf, so no mud patches for the dogs to get dirty in. We have a misting system that runs in the heat, and they have houses with heaters for the winter. I have a large whelping area/nursery that has also been through changes and we are in the beginning stages of a total overhaul in there right now.
