They are confident hunters of deer and wild boar. Their long legs cover a lot of ground quickly and have no problem hunting for hours at a time. Chien Francais Tricolores can be family companions, but they tend to think they know best, so they will need a strong human leader to break through their stubbornness. Chien Francais Tricolores are pack dogs and prefer to live with doggie friends. Smaller animals, on the other hand, require some careful socialization. These dogs are hunters after all. Chien Francais Tricolores appreciate room to roam. They love to be in the country, but will adapt to a big backyard. These long-legged hounds need space and can be loud, which doesn’t make them a good match for apartment life.
