Russkiy Toy

The Russkiy Toy is a true companion dog. They are active and lively, and they love their families. They will attempt to courageously protect their owners to the end. They are quick to notice strangers and will be very vocal about warning you. They love to play and will need your love and attention daily.

A variety of coat types and colors exist for the Russkiy Toy. They come in long or short and can be either a mix of black, brown, or blue and tan, red or sable. Those with long coats have long hair over their very big ears and occasionally, their bodies. The Smooth coats tend to be more "terrier-like," with longer hair over their whole frame. They require frequent brushing and a weekly or bi-weekly bath to keep them clean. These dogs shed minimally and brushing keeps the shedding down.

It's hard not to love a tiny Russkiy Toy Terrier. These dogs love all members of the family regardless of age. They are perfect for apartment life and can get along with other animals when trained properly. Be aware that these small dogs may not be a good fit for a home with larger hunting dogs. These friendly dogs will love to play daily, even if that just means throwing a few toys around the house or yard.

The Russkiy Toy Terrier is an active dog, despite their petite size. They love to chase and play fetch and require an open and safe area to run. While its tempting to carry these dainty dogs, they still need to be taken for walks everyday to stay healthy. Don't think that just because they are small that they should be confined to small spaces.
