Doc is a growing boy who has been hitting all of his milestones. His eyes are opening and he is starting to wiggle his ears. He is also trying to stand and walk. He is doing well with ENS. Doc is now walking and attempting to escape the whelping area! He is doing well with a nail dremel for his nails. He is also seeking out our attention and loves cuddling. Doc is eating ground meat now. He has all four canines and his lower incisors are also through the gums! He played on the splash pad this week and is starting to enjoy toys! Doc loves running around the yard with the other dogs. He runs through tunnels and around the teeter. With some turkey and encouragement, he has went completely up the teeter! Doc is also learning to stand on a table working towards stacking. Doc started obedience class tonight now that he is 12 weeks old. He had so much fun and met other dogs. He is learning to respond to his name, sit, focus and lay down. We can’t wait for next week’s class! We just finished week three of obedience classes! Doc did great with his new lessons. He learned to go to his mat (park it), walk on the leash even better, and stay. He also learned roll over! He really likes his mat so spent any down time laying on it. Doc is proud to have graduated from Beginning Obedience tonight! He is looking forward to his first dog show this weekend. Doc had so much fun at the dog show! On Saturday, he was trying to figure out what to do in Beginner Puppy. He obviously figured it out because Sunday he won Best of Breed or Variety and then won second in Toy Group! He ended the weekend with 2 Puppy of Achievement points. He only needs 8 more to earn his Puppy of Achievement title. Doc has now earned his AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Puppy of Achievement titles. He has enjoyed Thanksgiving and Christmas with us, but he is hoping to find a family to love him like his brother has.

Frequently Asked Questions
About English Toy Spaniel Puppies
What's the personality of a English Toy Spaniel?
With their round heads, wide eyes, long, feathery ears and lively colors, the English Toy Spaniel has a distinct and attention-grabbing appearance. While sometimes timid and a bit stubborn, this breed is very intelligent, friendly, and well-behaved. Full-grown, they typically weigh 8-14 pounds and stand 9-10 inches tall.
Are English Toy Spaniels safe around children?
English Toy Spaniels are generally excellent with children of all ages. The English Toy Spaniel is a friend to other household pets and other dogs. They fancy older children for play companions as well as for a lap to nap on, however younger children should be supervised around them because of their small size and long, very pullable hair. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.
Are English Toy Spaniels high-energy dogs?
English Toy Spaniels dogs love walks and enjoy indoor play during the summer, since they don’t very much care for hot weather. They are very adaptable to the owner’s activity lifestyle and can adjust to apartment life as well. Overall, their exercise needs are low.
How much grooming does a English Toy Spaniel need?
English Toy Spaniels have long, soft, silky hair that is lightly waved and could rival the models in an Herbal Essence commercial. There are four color types, including tricolor (‘Prince Charles’), red and white (‘Blenheim’), black and tan (‘King Charles’), and red (‘Ruby’). They only need to be bathed as necessary (such as after a wild romp in the mud), but they should be brushed twice a week to avoid naps and tangles. Grooming-wise, this breed is moderate.
What should first-time owners know about English Toy Spaniels?
English Toy Spaniels are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. The English Toy Spaniel is a friend to other household pets and other dogs. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
