Miniature Pinschers are from Germany and were bred to take care of rat problems. With good looks, big personalities and a fun sense of humor, these small dogs quickly moved from the farmhouse to the city. They love to be the center of your attention, so get ready to dole out some love! Full-grown, they typically weigh 8-10 pounds and stand 10-13 inches tall.

Miniature Pinschers are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. They are curious, quick, and hard to catch. Miniature Pinschers love belly rubs, hugs, and kisses from their families, but their small size makes them a better match for older children who play gently. They're very vocal and bark quite a lot.

Daily walks (on the leash) are a great activity for curious Miniature Pinschers. It’s an opportunity for them to explore safely and stretch their legs. They really don’t need much more exercise than this. Overall, their exercise needs are high.

Miniature Pinschers are tough little dogs who aren’t afraid of a pretty sweater. In fact, when it’s cold, they definitely require one. Min Pins do not have much fur to keep them warm, but their short-haired coat is easy to maintain. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.

Miniature Pinschers are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. Apartment-style living serves them well. Be sure to have them on a leash when taking them out for a walk or keep them in a secured backyard for playtime. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.

Yorkshire Terriers are generally excellent with children of all ages. Because of their diminutive stature, Yorkies are well-suited to apartment life, but households with young children are not recommended unless carefully supervised. They're fairly vocal dogs that bark regularly.

The Yorkshire Terrier can have most of their exercise needs met through indoor play, but they prefer a daily walk or romp in a fenced-in yard. They don't need much exercise, so don't wear your Yorkie out too much, but they will need to play with their families throughout the day. Overall, their exercise needs are high.
