Who doesn’t love a Basset Hound!! Mooney is an adorable Basset Hound male. His personality is starting to develop. He is little but mighty! He is the smallest of the litter but he is not a runt. He is healthy and active. He is full blooded but not registered. We have had both parents since they were puppies. We call them our Basset “Clowns”. Their dad Hank goes with us to the lake and follows us on hikes through the woods. He is a pleasure and spoiled rotten. Their mom Bailey is our comic relief and brightens a bad day.
Mooney will be ready to go when he is 8 wks old (May 16th) and will have all necessary vaccinations and dewormings. He will, also, have a “Go Bag” with items for his travel home. We are taking deposits to hold them until pickup. Once your deposit is down, I send pictures and videos as often as I can until it’s time for him to go.
Local pickup is in a public place safe for both of us. We are willing to drive an hour from our location to meet. Shipping by way of cargo can be looked into but has become very expensive ($750) and the airlines are very particular. Especially about weather conditions.

Although the Basset Hound’s coat is very short, it does require daily brushing. Their hair sheds heavily, and if you want to reduce the amount you find around your house, these daily brushings will help. Some people think the Basset Hound’s oily coat gives off a bad smell, but that can be helped with regular baths. Grooming-wise, this breed is moderate.
What kind of home is best for a Basset Hound?
Basset Hounds are best suited for a house with a good-sized yard. If you don’t want a dog with an incredibly loud voice howling constantly, the Basset Hound need to be in a situation they can live inside with you. They also love to play outside and will follow any interesting scents they come across, so a home with a big backyard or a farmhouse is a good bet for a happy Basset Hound. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.
