About Kara
Hi! I’m the breeder behind Uinta Mountain Shepherds, a small, family-based German Shepherd breeding program located in the mountains of Kamas, Utah.
Our program is built around carefully selected, European-imported German Shepherds from proven bloodlines. We’ve invested heavily in bringing in exceptional dogs with strong pedigrees, beautiful structure, stable temperaments, and the qualities the German Shepherd breed is known for. Our breeding dogs are fully health tested, including hips, elbows, DM and other appropriate health screenings, and we carefully evaluate every pairing before breeding.
Our dogs also make exceptional family and protection dogs.
Our goal is to produce German Shepherds that truly have it all... excellent health, beautiful structure, confident and stable temperaments, intelligence, loyalty, and natural protective instincts. We especially focus on dogs that can be wonderful family companions while still maintaining the confidence and protective qualities of a well-bred German Shepherd.
Our puppies are raised hands-on in a family environment and receive extensive early socialization. We incorporate Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), exposure to children, household activity, different surfaces, sounds, environments, and new experiences to help give them a strong foundation before going home.
We are very intentional about where our puppies go and want each one placed with a family where they will thrive for life. We also love staying connected with our puppy families and being a resource throughout the lifetime of their dog.
