At Top Gun Golden Retrievers, our goal is simple: to raise healthy, confident Golden Retrievers that are prepared to become exceptional family companions, therapy dogs, and service dog prospects.
Every breeding dog in our program is fully health tested before being bred. Our parents have official OFA certifications for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes—not preliminary results—and all genetic testing is completed through Embark. We believe families deserve complete transparency and the confidence that comes from responsible breeding practices.
What truly sets our program apart is what happens after our puppies are born.
As a certified obedience trainer, I don't simply raise puppies—I prepare them for life. Our older puppies participate in a structured training and enrichment program designed to build confidence, resilience, and excellent manners before they ever go home.
Depending on their age, our puppies are introduced to crate training, potty training, obedience foundations, leash skills, confidence-building exercises, agility equipment, swimming, grooming, veterinary handling, and extensive desensitization training. They also accompany us on real-world outings to locations such as airports, shopping centers, home improvement stores, pet-friendly businesses, and assisted living facilities, where they learn to confidently navigate new environments while remaining calm and engaged with their handler.
One of our favorite training exercises is teaching puppies that people are rewarding while also reinforcing polite behavior. During many of our outings, puppies earn attention and treats from new people by sitting patiently instead of jumping, helping build confidence, self-control, and positive social interactions.
Our goal is to send home more than a beautiful Golden Retriever. We strive to provide every family with a puppy that has been intentionally prepared for success and is ready to continue learning alongside the people who will love them for the rest of their lives.
