About Zyla
When I was 12, my family adopted an older rescue dog named Bradly. He had been abandoned after his owner passed away, and he was terrified of almost everything. It took months before he trusted us enough to wag his tail or fall asleep without shaking. One day Bradly slipped out of the yard during a snowstorm. We searched for hours, knocking on doors and walking through the woods with flashlights, but we couldn’t find him. The next morning, a local animal shelter called to tell us he had been hit by a car while trying to cross the road.Losing Bradly was heartbreaking, but what stayed with me most was knowing how scared he must have been in his final moments. After that, I started volunteering with dogs whenever I could, learning how to care for anxious and rescued animals. I wanted to make sure that every dog I met felt safe, loved, and protected, even if it was only for a short time. That experience is what inspired me to start caring for other people’s pets.
