Hi everyone! I’m a RN and a Realtor in the Nashville, TN area. I have ALWAYS wanted a Merle Australian shepherd. When I got Ginger from a breeder who told me that she couldn’t breed her because she attacks the males, I had immediately decided to get her spayed. However, once we had her, it became very clear that she may, at one point in her life, have been abused. She is extremely scared with loud noises and wouldn’t let anyone touch her right ear without yelping and running. The vet agreed that she was probably abused and some people train by folding their ear. I have worked with her a lot and can now touch her ear. She still gets very anxious with loud noise and just wants to cuddle up with me ALL the time. We also have a male lab mix that we had found on the street. The 2 of them love each other. Even when EMS left our front door open all day after taking my mom to the hospital, we found the 2 of them together. She never left his side. Once she went into heat for the first time and we realized our male (neutered) did not get attacked, we knew something else had gone on. We decided to try to breed her on her next heat and had ZERO issues.
Ginger is the MOST LOVING AND LOYAL dog I’ve ever owned. I’m sure her puppies will be just like her. If you are looking for a GREAT puppy, Ginger’s will be the best!
