Temperament and Behavior

Taiwan Dogs are intelligent, alert, loyal, and highly adaptable. They tend to form strong bonds with their families and can be reserved around strangers. Early socialization and consistent, positive training are important to help them develop into confident, well-mannered companions.

Coat & Grooming

The Taiwan Dog has a short, dense, straight coat that lies close to the body. Common coat colors include black, brindle, yellow, white, and combinations of these colors, often with distinctive markings. The coat is relatively low-maintenance, requiring regular brushing to remove loose hair and occasional bathing. Taiwan Dogs do shed, particularly during seasonal changes.

Lifestyle & Living Conditions

This breed generally does best in a home where they can be part of the family rather than left alone for long periods. They are naturally curious and independent, but they also enjoy companionship and interaction with their owners. A secure yard can be beneficial, although they can adapt to different living environments when their exercise and mental-stimulation needs are met.

Exercise & Activity

Taiwan Dogs are active and athletic and need regular daily exercise. Walks, hiking, running, interactive play, training sessions, and activities that challenge them mentally are good ways to keep them engaged.
