The Danish Broholmer is a large, confident dog that knows who’s who and what's what. They will confidently and lovingly watch over their families and are naturally wary of strangers. They aren’t aggressive and are easy to train, but they need a strong and calm leader to show them the ropes. Full-grown, they typically weigh 90-150 pounds and stand 27-30 inches tall.

Danish Broholmers are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. Since these dogs are hard to find, you must be prepared to train them, maintain their proper behavior, and keep them occupied. Socialization from confident owners at a young age is necessary to get along with both strangers and family members alike. They're relatively quiet and don't bark much.

As with all big dogs, they do need exercise but not an excessive amount. They are not suited for long distance runs, but they also don't enjoy spending all their time at home. Apartment life wouldn’t be a good fit for these big dogs, but a house with a fenced-in yard would be ideal. Overall, their exercise needs are moderate.
