About
Bedlington Terrier
Puppies
How would you describe a Bedlington Terrier?
Bedlington Terriers may look sheepish, but their active personalities and natural spunk will keep you smiling. They’re generally calm, but if you get them riled up, their playful spirits and high-energy personalities will provide hours of entertainment. Full-grown, they typically weigh 17-23 pounds and stand 15-17 inches tall.
Are Bedlington Terriers friendly with strangers and kids?
Bedlington Terriers are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. Bedlington Terriers are wonderful companions for children and can coexist with other pets and animals if socialized together. They're moderate barkers — they'll alert you when something's up but aren't excessive.
What kind of exercise do Bedlington Terriers need?
Bedlington Terriers love their daily exercise. They’re fantastic jumpers and fast runners, so playtime is always eventful. Like many terriers, Bedlingtons are natural performers. Overall, their exercise needs are moderate.
What should I expect with Bedlington Terrier shedding?
Bedlington Terriers are nicknamed “Little Lambs” because their short, ultra curly hair resembles wool. Although their fur is thick, they don’t shed much. However, because the hair is curly, they need regular grooming, including bathing and styling, to keep them looking good. Grooming-wise, this breed is moderate. Bedlington Terriers are considered hypoallergenic, which can be a plus for allergy sufferers.
Are Bedlington Terriers easy to train?
Bedlington Terriers are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. Since they love being around people, Bedlington Terriers prefer living indoors. They are moderately trainable with consistent effort.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
