He was born with a cleft on his soft palate. However, he is stable and thriving! Our vet has fully cleared him for a normal diet, and he eats regular solid dog food completely fine without any special food restrictions. His only symptom is that when he drinks water, a bit comes out of his nose. The vet has confirmed this is safe for him right now, and he functions just like any other happy, high-energy puppy.
To ensure his long-term health, he will require a standard corrective surgical repair to close the soft palate cleft once he reaches 12 weeks of age. Because we want his transition to be seamless, we have already done all the pre-op legwork and have the exact plan ready for his new family
