Mom is 7 Lbs, Dad is 11 Lbs. Here's some info on my program: my adult dogs and puppies are raised in my home, not in kennels. All puppies are dewormed at two weeks and then every week until adopted, NeoPar vaccine at 4 weeks, their first 5-way puppy combo vaccine at 6 weeks, vet checked, and started on Revolution for heart worm, flea, and tick prevention. Parents are genetically tested and all puppies will come with a 1 year health guarantee. Non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy or a pick in a litter is $500 and it will come off your total balance! Balance is due by 8 weeks of age. After you purchase one of my puppies and cannot pick him/her up at the by the time they are 8 weeks old, I charge a daily or weekly boarding fee. This covers additional vaccines, warming, & food. Weather permitting my puppies are exposed to all of the typical outdoor sights, sounds, and smells. I get them used to the lawnmowers and leaf blowers. They are also exposed to a variety of tactile sensations, such as grass, concrete sprinklers, and anything else I can think of to help them be well adjust to your home. Q: Can we come meet the puppies and pick one out in person? A: I do not allow in person meet and greets until the day of pick up for several reasons that I will briefly touch on: 1. Parvo, kennel cough, and other infectious diseases can be brought onto the property. 2. We own Rottweiler and she don't take lightly to strangers on the property especially when puppies are on site. 3. Strangers handling the puppies puts an extreme amount of stress on the mothers and the other dogs on site. No exceptions. I do everything through pictures and videos. Video chats are also available upon request. Your puppy will not be spayed or neutered, however, if you wish to purchase one of my pups that are AKC or CKC for Breeding, there will be an additional fee. The names you see listed are for identification purposes only and they are not called by these names. Q: Is the puppy potty trained? A: The short answer is no. Although we do start the potty training process they are still babies and will need continued potty training after they leave us. Q: Will the puppy have all their shots? A: Your puppy will have all age appropriate shots. Your puppy will have received a NeoPar vaccine at four weeks. Your puppy will have received a five way puppy combo at six weeks. If they’re still in my custody, they will continue to get vaccines at 9 weeks, 12 weeks, and 16 weeks. It will be your responsibility to get your puppy rabies vaccinated. If you happen to be flying in, I can meet you at a mutually convenient time at the Richmond International Airport. Please don’t schedule your flight before you speak with me so that we can arrange a convenient time to meet.

About
Miniature Dachshund

Is a Miniature Dachshund the right dog for me?
The Dachshund (pronounced dak-sund; also known as a ‘Teckel’) originated in Germany in the sixteenth century. They were bred and trained to chase down prey, such as a badger (Dachshund means ‘Badger Dog’) or fox, enter its burrow, kill it, and retrieve it. Full-grown, they typically weigh 9-11 pounds and stand 5-6 inches tall.
How do Miniature Dachshunds behave around young children?
Miniature Dachshunds are generally okay with older children who know how to handle dogs. The Miniature Dachshund is somewhat reserved around strangers and may bark at them, but forms a strong bond with family. It can be too courageous around larger dogs. They're very vocal and bark quite a lot.
What activities do Miniature Dachshunds enjoy most?
The Miniature Dachshund needs a small amount of exercise; medium length walks or a fair amount of play in the yard should be sufficient. Miniature Dachshunds may tire easily so exercise should be spaced out throughout the day. Miniature Dachshunds can live comfortably in an apartment, but it is best if they get an occasional view of the wild. Overall, their exercise needs are moderate.
What should I expect with Miniature Dachshund shedding?
The smooth- and long-haired Miniature Dachshund should be brushed occasionally to remove dead hairs. Long-haired Miniature Dachshunds are prone to tangles, so they should be groomed more often. The coat of the wire-haired Miniature Dachshund should be plucked twice a year. Grooming-wise, this breed is low-maintenance.
Can a Miniature Dachshund live in an apartment?
Miniature Dachshunds are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. They are fairly easy to train.

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.

Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.

Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.

A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
