Smilee Schnauzers: Puppy Shipping & Delivery Policy At Smilee Schnauzers, the health, safety, and comfort of our puppies are our absolute highest priorities. Bringing a new family member home is an exciting milestone, and we offer a few carefully vetted options to ensure a smooth, low-stress transition from our home to yours. 1. Local Pickup (Recommended) We always love meeting our puppy families in person! How it works: Once your puppy is ready to leave the litter (typically at 8 weeks old), we will coordinate a safe, convenient date and time for you to pick up your puppy directly from us. What to bring: A secure, small travel crate, a soft blanket, and plenty of paper towels or wet wipes for the drive home. 2. Hand-Delivery / Meeting Halfway If you live within a reasonable driving distance but local pickup isn't feasible, we may be able to arrange a personal delivery. How it works: We can arrange to meet you at a safe, public, and easily accessible location halfway between our home and yours. Fees: A standard mileage/travel fee will apply to cover time and fuel costs. This must be agreed upon and paid prior to the delivery date. 3. Flight Nanny Service (For Long-Distance Families) For families living further across the country, we strictly avoid standard cargo shipping. Instead, we utilize professional Flight Nanny services to ensure your puppy is pampered every step of the way. How it works: A trusted, experienced flight nanny will personally carry your puppy into the airplane cabin. The puppy remains in a soft-sided carrier under the seat and receives constant supervision, care, and affection throughout the entire journey. Airport Meet-Up: You will meet the flight nanny at your local airport's arrivals terminal or baggage claim to receive your puppy. Fees: Flight nanny fees vary based on airline ticket prices and destination. The buyer is responsible for the cost of the nanny's round-trip ticket, airline pet fees, and the nanny's service fee. General Shipping Requirements & Health Guarantees Age Standard: No puppy will be permitted to travel or leave our care before reaching a minimum of 8 weeks of age and receiving their first round of essential vaccinations and wellness checks. Veterinary Clearance: Prior to any long-distance travel, the puppy will receive a final checkup from our licensed veterinarian to secure a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (Health Certificate), which is required by airlines. Weather Restrictions: If utilizing a flight nanny, travel dates may be subject to flexibility based on extreme weather conditions to guarantee the puppy's absolute safety during airport transitions. Next Steps Once you have selected your preferred delivery method, please let us know so we can finalize the schedule, calculate any applicable travel fees, and ensure all veterinary paperwork is perfectly aligned for gotcha day!

Frequently Asked Questions
About Miniature Schnauzer Puppies

What's it like owning a Miniature Schnauzer?
Miniature Schnauzers may look like lap dogs, but they’re more likely to chase animals around the yard or stand guard at the door than be lazy couch potatoes. These loyal dogs are bundles of energy that enjoy spending time with their owners, protecting the home, and being your #1 companion. Full-grown, they typically weigh 11-20 pounds and stand 12-14 inches tall.
Do Miniature Schnauzers do well in a busy household?
Miniature Schnauzers are generally excellent with children of all ages. Miniature Schnauzers are not the warmest dogs upon initial introduction, but once they get acquainted with you, they’re sweet and loving. Their wariness around strangers usually leads to lots of barking, especially when they’re around other dogs. They're very vocal and bark quite a lot.
What activities do Miniature Schnauzers enjoy most?
Miniature Schnauzers are athletic pups that can barely contain their energy. They need to be exercised multiple times a day to stay healthy and avoid getting into trouble. These dogs love to run, play in the yard, practice earth dog or tracking activities, and do anything that gets their heart pumping. Overall, their exercise needs are very high.
How much grooming does a Miniature Schnauzer need?
Miniature Schnauzers have typical terrier-style coats. A soft, thick undercoat keeps them warm and is topped by a wiry outer coat. Their notable features include long hair on their chin and face, which gives them expressive eyebrows and a beard. Grooming-wise, this breed is fairly high-maintenance. Miniature Schnauzers are considered hypoallergenic, which can be a plus for allergy sufferers.
Are Miniature Schnauzers a good fit for apartment living?
Miniature Schnauzers are best suited for apartments and smaller homes. They can live outdoors in moderate or warm areas but prefer to spend most of their time indoors with family. They are highly trainable and eager to learn.

Puppy Buyer's FAQ
See Full Guide Here

Visit or Video Call the Breeder
Visit in person if possible, or request a live video call to meet the puppy, see its living conditions, and meet the mom. Ask to see where the dogs eat, sleep, and play.
Get a Vet Exam Immediately
Have a vet examine the puppy within two days of bringing it home, even if it seems healthy.
Request Complete Health Records
Ask for vaccination records, deworming history, and vet exam results. For purebreds, ask for parent health clearances.
Get Everything in Writing
Written contract with health guarantees, return/refund policy, and spay/neuter terms. Verbal promises are unenforceable.
Use Secure Payment Methods
Pay with a credit card or another traceable method that offers buyer protection. Avoid wire transfers, crypto, or gift cards, which are difficult to recover.
Verify Breeder Credentials
Check USDA license, state breeder license, breed club memberships, and reviews. Ask for buyer references.
Know What to Look For
A trustworthy breeder welcomes visits, specializes in one or two breeds, prices fairly, and gives you time to decide without pressure.
Know Your State's Laws
Some states have lemon laws; others rely on contract law. Know your rights before you buy.
