Dragonfly is a petite Goldendoodle girl with a lot of personality packed into a little body. Expected to mature around 15–25 pounds, she is confident, playful, highly motivated, and incredibly willing to engage with her people. She has plenty of naturally calmer periods and can happily entertain herself, but when something catches her interest, she is all in.
Dragonfly should be especially fun for someone who enjoys training. She is very responsive and stays fully engaged while working, with excellent toy motivation and a natural interest in using her nose. She is persistent, resilient, and confident in her own abilities, making activities like trick training, retrieving, scent work, or dog sports great possibilities for her.
She is also a strong-willed little girl who will need clear, consistent boundaries. When excited, Dragonfly isn't shy about jumping into your space, mouthing, grabbing clothing, or persisting when she wants something. She learns quickly, so her family will want to establish expectations early and make sure the behaviors they reward are the ones they actually want to live with. For someone who enjoys an interactive puppy with opinions, she should be incredibly rewarding to raise.
Dragonfly is generally bold and comfortable exploring her environment, although she can have a bigger startle response to certain unexpected sights and sounds. She recovers well, particularly with someone she trusts, and will benefit from continued thoughtful socialization. Because of this sensitivity, we don't recommend her as a straightforward service or therapy prospect, and a consistently loud or chaotic household would not be our first choice for her.
She also has a strong instinct to chase. Homes with small livestock or small animals she can pursue are not recommended. Cats are more individual—a confident, dog-savvy cat that stands its ground may be workable, while a fearful or flighty cat that runs would not be a good match.
